Any for-profit organization is considered a Commercial Organization for purposes of the commercial license. Commercial Organizations must purchase a commercial license before using any content from the Template Library. Templates are delivered via email. Every purchase includes 3 years free update support.
You can obtain the templates you need in three easy steps:
- Review the templates that are currently available. Templates are packaged into groups that are relevant to different areas of project work, e.g. Risk Management or Business Analysis. Scroll down this page to locate the template group of your choice, and click "Details." A page will appear that describes every template in that group. PDF presentations demonstrating many of the templates are available here, enabling you to see what you are getting before you buy.
- Put the templates you want into your shopping cart. An "Add to Cart" button is available to the right of each template group. You may add more than one group to your cart before checking out.
- Check out. Click the "View Cart" button to verify your selections.
- PayPal: If you have a PayPal account select the "PayPal" button to finish your purchase.
- Credit Card: By selecting "Check Out," PayPal will handle your transaction using any valid credit card. You do not need a PayPal account to pay for your templates with a credit card, unless you are ordering from Brazil or Malaysia.
As soon as you have made your purchase, you will be automatically forwarded to a web page containing a link to download your templates in .zip format. An email containing this link will also be sent to the email address you used to make the purchase. This link will remain valid for two weeks after the date of purchase.

Simply unlock the file by clicking on Review and then Unprotect Sheet. Our Excel templates are shipped locked to protect formulas, but there is no password required to unlock them.

We use Microsoft Office to develop our templates. Most of our templates are currently .doc and .xls. However, we have begun a gradual migration to .docx and .xlsx.

You CANNOT remove or change the copyright notice that is included in the Document Properties of any template. No matter how much you change a template, CVR/IT Consulting retains copyright to the original content in that template.
You CAN remove the copyright notice from the body of the template where it is visible when printed. In fact, our templates are shipped ready to receive your Organization name and logo.

The templates are updated once each year, although not necessarily every 12 months. We email the updates to all licensees of record within the past three years to the email address used to purchase the license. If you need for us to send updates to a different address, you must let us know.

When you add new text to a template or change the layout/formatting, the new text and layout/format do become your intellectual property.
However, no matter how many changes you make, the original text and layout/formatting remain the copyrighted property of CVR/IT Consulting. Restrictions on use continue as long as your version of the template contains any of the original CVR/IT Consulting copyrighted material.

Yes, but only for work they do for you.
|
Yes, you can. Once you have a commercial license you are permitted, for example, to use the templates to carry out a project for your customer who does not have a license for the templates. Your customer can use the templates in any work in which you are involved. Your customer can also provide the templates to third parties who are contracted to do work for them (e.g. contract staff) as long as you are involved in the work.
However, your customer is not allowed to use the templates in any of their work that does not involve you. Nor can they give or sell the templates to any third party with whom they have no contract.
If your customer will make extensive use of the templates it may be best for your customer to purchase a license. (It is not that much money.)

Generally, only individuals working in the same division (Business Unit) that purchased the license can use the templates.
The exception comes when a Project Management Office (PMO) purchases the license. In that case, the templates can be used in any project under their purview.
So, for example, if the PMO makes the templates a standard for the organization, then whoever constitutes the "organization" from the standpoint of the PMO can use the templates.

There are many sources of free templates on the web. While some of these templates are done well, overall they vary greatly in quality and consistency. The following table compares commonly found free templates with our commercial set in four critical areas.

Any for-profit organization is considered a Commercial Organization for purposes of this license. Commercial Organizations must obtain a commercial license before using any content from the Template Library. CVR/IT Consulting issues a commercial license for each defined set of templates ("Licensed Templates"). A Business Unit or Project Management Office ("Organizational Unit") of a Commercial Organization only needs to purchase one commercial license for each set of licensed templates. The commercial license is perpetual, non-exclusive and non-transferrable.
Holders of a commercial license may:
- Modify Licensed Templates for use within their own Organizational Unit.
- Allow all employees and contractors within their own Organizational Unit to use the Licensed Templates.
- Use the Licensed Templates as a tool during delivery of project services to their customers. Note, however, that they may NOT re-sell a license to any portion of the Licensed Templates to those customers. Further, those customers may only use the Licensed Templates in conjunction with work performed by the license holder.
- Remove the copyright notice from the body of the template that is visible when the document is printed. However, see restriction below.
- Affix their organization's name and logo to the document.
- Post the Licensed Templates on the internal website or other file sharing mechanism of their Organizational Unit as long as no one who is not licensed to use the Licensed Templates can view or download them.
Holders of a commercial license MAY NOT:
- Post any Licensed Templates on a website or other file sharing mechanism outside of their Organizational Unit.
- Expose any Licensed Templates in such a way that anyone who is not a customer or is not licensed to use the Licensed Templates can view or download them.
- Distribute Licensed Templates to anyone outside of their Organizational Unit unless the recipients are either customers or are licensed to use the Licensed Templates.
- Re-sell Licensed Templates to anyone.
- Remove or change the copyright notice that is included in the Document Properties of any template. That copyright notice must remain intact. No matter how much a template is changed, CVR/IT Consulting retains copyright to the original content in that template.
- Use Licensed Templates for any illegal purpose.
